I think even after 1 date rejecting someone with a series of banal platitudes is kind of a slap in the face. From my perspective, ghosting or saying “hey I wasn’t feeling a physical attraction” or “I didn’t think we connected beyond a surface level and I’m looking for a deeper spark”, is equally clear and at least illustrates you see the other person as a human who has feelings and that you care enough about human connection to forgoe copying and pasting bullshit. “I didn’t feel a romantic connection” and “I wish you the best comes off pretty close to “thanks for the free drinks/dinner, go fuck yourself I’m not interested”. We can all do better than this shitty advice.

Had someone say THEY
wanted to date me bc THEY felt a connection. Annoying and kinda arrogant. So what if we’ve had good convos and hung outs. I responded with, I’ll see. So this should go down bc you like me? Didn’t stop to see if I felt the same way. Then the good night beautiful texts. kissy emojis start. I want to send the eye roll one now!! Come on, setting your own self up for heart break or whatever. And you should want that person to want you in the same way. It’s not always about giving someone “more time”, it’s just not mutual. Yes, be nice, don’t just ghost, but at the end the day, I’m not your responsibility for how they feel after that Third person I’ve met to do this.

I know how it feels when you don’t feel the spark. But there is a dating app on which it will match you on the basis of your interest. We only found a spark with the ones who are having some same interests we have. Thanks for sharing. Great blog!!
